Hi, I'm Suzanne, and I’m so happy to have you here! My hope with this blog is to inspire adventure and make it easy for fellow wanderers to opt outside and explore.

When I travel, I like to balance adventures with indulgences, because it's important to invest in all the things that bring us joy; and for me, that is most typically an outdoor activity followed by food & drink at a fun, local spot.

A lot of my blogs are written as itineraries - for a day, a weekend, or a week; and even if you don’t follow each step, I hope you can find some useful tips and inspiration when planning your own adventure.

Happy Travels!

BODEGA BAY | Will road trip for Oysters

As a girl from the east coast, when I hear "Oysters" my ears perk up.  Living on the coast should mean fresh seafood and shellfish, but I hadn't yet had a truly exceptional seafood experience in the bay area until this Bodega Bay trip. If you're seeking an easy one day outing up the coast, full of seafood and beautiful exercise, this trip is for you.

BODEGA BAY OYSTER COMPANY

The sure fire highlight of this trip was the grilled oysters from Bodega Bay Oyster Company, so I'd be remiss not to mention them immediately. But this was our last stop of the day, so I have more on those below.

Stop 1:
On your way to Bodega Bay Trailhead stop at Valley Ford Cheese and Creamery for some coffee fuel and a breakfast pastry.  We even treated ourselves to an affogato.

Stop 2:
Enjoy the cliff views and ocean air. Listen for the seals in the distance.

Stop 3:
The line is worth the wait. Fill up after your walk on some famous crab cakes (available until sold out!), crab sandwich, and chowder. As a girl from New England, home of New England Clam Chowder, I can vouch for this being one of the best chowders I've had on the west coast.

Stop 4:
Last but not least, the reason for the trip, Bodega Bay Oyster Company, grilled, delicious and a west coast treat.  We don't grill oysters on the east coast so I was intrigued. They lived up to the expectations and it was a fun outdoor campsite to hang and eat. (Quicker and easier spot to drop in for a bite, than fighting the crowds and reservations at Tomales Bay)

Happy road-tripping!     Xx Suz
